After my first book (read damn good book) failed to pick up, my publisher rejected all my further submissions, one after the the other, probably without reading the damn things. Seeing my sales figures on Amazon, others probably did the same. Why bet on a losing horse.
Now I’ve decided to self publish.
Watch out for my next:
1. Mail Order Bride
2. Perfect Imperfect
3. The Roots
4. Wedding Invitation
5. Seven Stories
and then some more.
I’m not giving up in a hurry.

As someone who’s done more freelance writing than novel-writing, I find it absolutely essential to be able to sell your writing. Even Stephen King had to start off marketing himself. He made copies of his stories and sold them individually to anyone who’d buy them.

It’s a tough world out there, Ravi. Sounds like you’ve been through a lot more than I have as I have only done the self-publishing thing so far.

That’s why I always come back to “doing it for the love.” Any time I stray from that idea, my writing doesn’t bring me joy anymore. That’s just what works for me. Good luck!
