That isn’t paid work and that’s (my POV) uncool of them to be listed in the “paying market” area. But, if you are new, you may need the publication credits to beef up your reputation. Just have to consider the advantages and disadvantages of publishing there. With I had a better answer :/

They want one of my pieces, but are saying that they are not currently paying for “non-commissioned” work and would I consider “donating” the piece to the magazine…!?! Am I being taken advantage of or should I let it go and insist on at least a contributor copy (I’m still emerging writer and trying to get as many publications as possible).
