I have such a hard time letting go, I'll go back, again and again, looking for typos, misplaced punctuation errors (oh the horror... not being sarcastic they drive me nuts.;-;) This month has been a joy I'm able to let go of looking for errors just enough to reveise—8 chapters.— Ya man, I'm really pleased, only checked for errors a couple of times. xD I'll do it later I want to finish this, the characters keep calling.

Cough a typo: I had never --head-- of the author but there were 14K reviews and overall 4 stars. (Die typos, die!)

Makes a blank face. What?

I remember that first year I was asking for critiques from every self-proclaimed critic on Wattpad. That poor book I rewrote the first twenty chapters too many times to count. Thankfully I saved the original drafts just in case. Most of the critics were wonderful and taught me the basics. But I kept asking them "just to check." and each person had different opinions what was right for my book and my characters, each one only would read 1-2 chapters.

I can't please anyone one (well except for a few they like it.) but some would give really compelling reasons for this and that and... I was ignoring my own opinion. Fail.

I stopped asking for critiques for a while as I'd discovered deep pov and felt it fit my story and characters so well that I revised the whole book. Sure it wasn't and still isn't perfect but it feels right. :D Butterflies and rainbows!

:-x I don't advise asking for critiques on Wattpad when writing in deep pov, as 98% if the critics/other writers you know don't write in it nor are willing to listen. I'm alone. Scary, ack!

Oh well do or die time, right?

I can come on here and go blah blah and chat with you though. ^-^ Well, when you have the time.

Awh, love-hate relationship with perfectionism. I used to be obssesed with making sure everything is PERFECT before I am done. It was a nightmare because I was never done. I am glad I am over that nowadays because I am very happy with my posts thanks to that. Great post - thanks!
You are more than welcome to stop by :)

I heard a story years ago about a man who was a perfectionist and was sent to a therapist by his company. The therapist talked to him and pointed out the disadvantages to being a perfectionist. The man enthusiastically said he got it and that with the therapist's help he would be the best damn non-perfectionist the therapist had ever seen!!

My first novel I wrote for just the sheer joy of it - because I was curious and because I loved the characters. The others followed and with each one I became doubtful and worried - money became an issue - either I made it and then lost it or lost it then made it or blah blah blah.

I didn't write a novel for over 2 years. I never thought I'd be "that author" - the one who didn't write. I used to scoff at that. ha! Welp. Yeah.

Yesterday I started working on the novel I put down several years ago. the one that made ME happy - the one that I won't worry about sales or if anyone will like it. I like it. So. There I go and here I go.
