Yes, Teuliano, I think most of us… well crime writers certainly… have got at least one tame medic, policeman, engineer, mechanic etc. to cover fields we ourselves aren’t clued up on. Otherwise it’s resort to Google and/or pick the phone and ask a stranger. They’ll usually be pleased to help when you tell them you’re novelist… or at least that’s the way I’ve found it here in the UK.
