Since it’s never too late to comment, here goes. I left this post in my inbox, as a timely reminder, and ever since the first read I have been upping the stakes and increasing the conflict. Yes, I am a firm believer of avoiding conflict in real life and this was colouring my stories. THANK YOU. Not to mention your advice on the difference between a premise and plot. Now I’m blushing.

I follow many blogs and facebook writing groups but this is the one I look forward to most and invariable gain the most from. Please don’t stop posting.

Hi Kristen!
I have a question. You always say that you need to be able to sum up your story in one sentence. Is that true of romance novels, too? It seems like I need two sentences: one that assures us that there is a happily ever after and one for the external plot. Thoughts?
