Kristen,

Once again, you've blogged about a topic that's on my mind. Every time I think I have a great BBT, I soften them into "he's not a bad guy, just ___." How did you teach yourself when to stop working on the BBT, before you made him into room-temperature butter in an Arizona summer?

Keep writing these great posts. Especially with all the images you add in that make me laugh!

NICE...and an excellent example to boot! I study a LOT of films to make my writing better. We can learn from every medium. Thanks for sharing.

A great movie that almost killed me with tension? The jury is still out on whether it is great or not, as this movie is still (Nov. 2021) in the theaters - the latest James Bond - "No Time To Die" so....for anyone who has not yet seen this film - SPOILER ALERT.

I will not give up too much story detail here, but the tension of a typical action-drama-Bond movie was raise exponentially when a daredevil chase scene with the baddies racing after JB in an underpowered Toyota was set in motion with a 5-yo child in the backseat of Bond's car. Again, I am holding back on storyline details, but as a father of a daughter, in the theater darkness I could feel my tension/fear growing during that quick-paced action sequence that crush my chest assuredly as if JB had parked his Aston Martin on my heart.
JB does what JB does, but the introduction of the child raised the stakes for the unflinching spy like I had never seen before. I hate Cary Joji Fukunaga for this. I commend him for it as well. I worry about what the young actress when through during filming.
BTW...texted my daughter as soon as I stepped from the theater, just to say 'hi'

One of the best explanations of making it worse that I have ever read. I was hooked by the rationale of pride vs cash. So much in so few sentences. The point of making it really bad is something I have to work on, and this gave me a broader perspective. I really liked this hook article. Thank you.

And your two classes I took were excellent. The Pitch class was especially helpful. Thank you!
