Wow, you are brave and I LIKE that. As an editor, I’d cut “blue.” I, too am a massive fan of the word “cerulean” but it is a color of blue. Effectively you are telling us ” a blue blue sky.” Just say, “…cerulean sky.” Other than that, I can already see your voice and I think I might have another word crow!

Awww, thanks so much for the comment love. I appreciate y’all SO much. I put a lot of work into these posts so you guys are VITAL for me so I don’t feel like I am talking to the ether. I used to do the same, but I found if I totally committed to the opening, it hindered me later because I might not have begun in the right spot. So now I get to the end, and if it still works? Great. Often I can THEN flesh it out and put all the pretty bits in and it works.

I am like you and I kind of know the story. I go by a log-line because that’s the big bits. How I travel from bit to bit is then the adventure.

I am a psychopath, aren’t I? See, I didn’t even NAME that family and you teared up a little. Just a little. If you want to use it, go for it. I just use it to teach Normal World. Everyone in the comments section could probably use a version of that opening and they’d all be different because…VOICE.

As for the blankets. I think I have one left. I used them for pet blankets and gave up trying to make a blanket. I stick to scarves, which are beautiful…and sitting in a drawer because it never gets cold and I can’t wear anything around my neck. But I like making them! LOL.

I’m also tempted to steal, uh, I mean *borrow* your idea of the frantic mom and the two kids who you may or may not have massacred on I-20. Kristen, how could you? (Also, the way you built the tension was amazing. I would read that story, seriously.)
